Villanova maintains the agricultural traditions of the estate in spite of the rather harsh character of the Ligurian terrain. The work is still done manually, because rarely are machines able to climb the steep hills.
Olive groves and
vineyards are skilfully cultivated thanks to the experience of the "old" farmers and the enthusiasm of the youngest descendent of the noble family, the
Baron Giancarlo Massola.
Olives, grapes, vegetables and fruits (which are used to prepare our delicious jams and preserves) are cultivated without the use of pesticides or chemicals, thus you will be able to taste 100% natural products.
Fresh herbs are grown in our gardens for our guests to pick and use in their meals to get a true taste of Italy.
As part of our wine and oil tasting we also offer the taste of traditional local dishes. This way we hope to bring to our guests an intimate experience of the land and the culinary traditions of Levanto.
We believe in keeping land and people happy by using organic products
(if possible local) and fair trade products at our breakfast buffet.
Villanova is also a member of the Agriculture Cooperative in Levanto and by providing our grapes and olives, we contribute to the production of the local wine and olive oil.
